About us

Humanitarian Diaries is a dedicated platform that seeks to amplify the voices of those impacted by conflict around the world. We believe in the power of knowledge to foster understanding and inspire action. Through our blog, we share personal accounts, research on International Law, and in-depth analyses of international conflicts and humanitarian issues. Our commitment goes beyond just raising awareness; we aim to create a community of informed individuals who are motivated to make a difference. By providing a space for victims to share their experiences, we strive to promote empathy, compassion, and ultimately, change. Join us in our mission to restore humanity.

Maliha Malik

Founder

Maliha is the founder of Humanitarian Diaries, a platform to raise awareness on issues in conflict zones.

With an LLM in International Law, Maliha began her research focusing on gender-based crimes in conflict zones, later exploring issues such as rape and sexual violence as weapons of war, as well as Rwanda’s development in the aftermath of genocide. Recognising a significant lack of awareness surrounding these issues, she founded Humanitarian Diaries as a platform to bring these critical conversations to light.

Maliha launched this platform as a means to invite other humanitarian writers to publish their work and reflect their perspectives. With the aim to give a voice to those left voiceless in the greatest of struggles.

There is a desperate need for humanity.
